TxSSC reserves a limited number of registrations each year for youth groups to attend the conference on scholarship. If awarded a scholarship to attend the conference, the only cost to the group is the cost of travel to and from the conference. Conference scholarships are reserved for those groups who would otherwise not be able to attend the conference. In addition, groups are required to be active in tobacco prevention and control at the local level and make a commitment to do so in the future with the skills and information they gain from attending the conference.

TxSSC is now accepting youth group scholarship applications for the conference. Youth Track Scholarships are limited, so you may consider paying for all or part of your group to ensure a spot.

Youth attending the conference must be a part of a school, church or community group working on tobacco issues, and must be accompanied by an Adult Sponsor. Youth must be between the ages of 12 and 17. Scholarships are generally limited to no more than 1 Sponsor and 6 youth per group.

Each group wishing to apply for a scholarship must complete the Youth Track Scholarship Application Packet. Completion of the scholarship application does not guarantee registration to the conference. Groups meeting the scholarship application deadline will be notified of acceptance no later than June 25, 2010. Selection is based on completeness of application, available conference space, and funding limitations.

Youth Track Scholarship Application Packets are due by May 28, 2010. If selected for a scholarship, the following is included in registration for youth and sponsors:

• 3 Nights Lodging (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday Nights)**
• Sunday Evening Mixer Buffet
• Monday Continental Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner
• Tuesday Continental Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
• Wednesday Continental Breakfast

**TxSSC will make lodging reservations for ALL Youth Track Participants. Be prepared for multiple occupancy.

Youth Track Participants (youth & sponsors) will NOT be provided with:

• Transportation to and from the conference
• Room deposits (refundable at checkout)
• Incidental costs and charges to room(s)
